The ARC ITRH Photovoltaic Solar Panel Recycling & Sustainability is proud to congratulate our Hub Director, Professor Yansong Shen, on receiving the 2026 Eureka Prize for Sustainability Research at the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes.

Prof Shen was recognised for his pioneering work developing a low-cost, scalable and portable process for recycling end-of-life photovoltaic solar panels and recovering valuable materials, providing a practical pathway to recover valuable resources, reduce solar waste and support a more circular and sustainable photovoltaic industry.

This achievement strongly reflects the mission of ARC Hub PVRS, bringing together researchers, industry and stakeholders across the photovoltaic value chain to develop practical solutions for solar panel recycling and sustainability.

We also gratefully acknowledge the support of Australian Research Council (ARC) and extend our warm congratulations to all 2026 Eureka Prize winners and finalists for their outstanding contributions to science, innovation and society.
