Dr Jason Xu is Associate Professor at School of Chemical Engineering, UNSW Sydney. Dr. Xu’s research group in the Centre for Advanced Macromolecular Design (CAMD) and Australian Centre for NanoMedicine (ACN) has the focus on green and precision polymer synthesis, and polymer hydrogels for nanomedicine and wearable electronics. Dr. Xu received his BS and PhD Degrees in Polymer Science from Fudan University. He was awarded ARC Future Fellowship and took a Lecturer position in 2017, following by promotions to Senior Lecturer in 2019 and Associate Professor in 2023, respectively. Dr. Xu has more than 150 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact chemistry, materials and engineering journals (Nat Photon, JACS, Angew Chemie, Energy Environ Sci, Adv Mater, Adv Sci, Nano Lett, etc), attracting >13,000 citations and an H-index of 63 (Nov. 2024, Google Scholar). He has been nominated as Emerging & Pioneering Investigator by the journals Polymer Chemistry (2018, 2021) and Chemical Communications (2018, 2023), and Rising Star in Polymer Science by Progress in Polymer Science (2022). He has successfully secured over $8 million in research funding from the ARC and industry partners.
